Score 6: Completely intelligible with exact repetition.
Exact repetition = correct pronunciation of all content words + correct use of all function words and grammar particles.
Score 5: Minor errors but still intelligible; maintains all meaning.
Any mistake in pronunciation or grammar lowers score to 5.
Score 4 or below: meaning is distorted or lost.

Actually, a listening test
To score a 6, you need perfect listening, not just speaking ability.
Exact repetition = repeat every word and syllable exactly, like a password.
Success depends on hearing all syllables, not just content words.
Most learners miss small grammar words (e.g., is, to, the) in connected speech.
Even fluent speakers often keep non-native rhythm or grammar patterns—it’s very difficult to master.
Real challenge: understanding connected speech and rhythm.
